Cyclepedia - Portland Art Museum
Join The Westin Portland and Portland Art Museum as we welcome Cyclepedia: Iconic Bicycle Design to the city, June 8 - September 8, 2013. As the city with more cyclists per capita, Portland is the obvious choice to host this unique exhibit. Featuring around 40 bicycles, each chosen from Vienna-based designer and bike aficionado Michael Embacheras' personal collection, each bike is an example of a moment in the evolution of bicycle design.
The Westin Portland will be featuring a lobby installation showcasing a one-of-a-kind custom-built bike from Portland’s own Vanilla Bicycles. On Thursday, June 13, The Westin Portland will be a stop along the progressive Pedal Party ride. From 5 – 7 p.m. fans of bicycles, beer, and ice cream will unite as they ride or walk between four local Portland hotels to see the lobby installations and sample a selection of Portland’s best beers and ice cream, as well as meet the authors of Hop in the Saddle, a guide to touring the city’s breweries by bike.
